New FKWJ-1 1m³ Narrow Tunnel Underground Scooptram

Jul. 15, 2026

With the continuous expansion of global thin vein mines and small non-metallic mineral tunneling projects, most underground drifts only have a cross-section within 2.5m×2m. Conventional standard underground loaders feature bulky frames and inflexible steering, which cannot enter narrow stope areas. Miners have to rely on manual mucking, resulting in high labor costs, low production efficiency and prominent underground safety hazards. To address this universal industry pain point, Jinan Focor Machinery officially releases the brand-new FKWJ-1 diesel underground scooptram (LHD), specially engineered for narrow vein small-scale mines and short-distance excavation tunnels. Featuring an ultra-compact frame, full set of world-class imported hydraulic power components, stable and reliable caliper disc safety braking system and expandable optional accessories, the FKWJ-1 completely solves loading and hauling difficulties in confined underground spaces, and has become the primary mucking equipment for small gold mines, silver mines, non-metal mines and miniature water diversion tunnel projects worldwide.

The FKWJ-1 boasts a rated load capacity of 2000kg and a standard bucket volume of 1m³, with an empty machine weight of 6780kg and a total loaded weight of 8780kg. Its moderate single-cycle loading capacity perfectly matches the daily ore extraction demand of hundreds to thousands of tons in small mines. It avoids floor damage caused by overweight large loaders and eliminates wall collision risks from clumsy big machinery. The overall dimension of FKWJ-1 is lightweight optimized exclusively for narrow underground drifts: total length reaches only 5700mm, frame width 1300mm, maximum bucket width 1395mm, maximum cabin height 1920mm, and minimum ground clearance 195mm. The low and narrow body design allows easy passage through ultra-narrow tunnels with 2m×2m cross-section, making it one of the narrowest internal combustion LHDs under the same load rating available on the market.

The wheelbase is shortened to 1880mm, adopting central articulated full hydraulic steering structure with a maximum left-right steering angle of 38°, and the rear axle can swing ±6.5° to adapt to uneven tunnel floors. The minimum inner turning radius is 2100mm and outer turning radius 4120mm. Operators can complete U-turns at curve tunnels and stopes without repeated forward and backward adjustments, drastically shortening single cycle operation time and boosting overall mine mucking efficiency. Meanwhile, it reduces civil engineering investment for tunnel widening and cuts early infrastructure costs for mining projects.

The traveling system adopts full hydraulic stepless variable transmission with forward and backward speed ranging from 0 to 12km/h, supporting flexible speed matching for three working modes: shoveling, heavy-load climbing and flat ground haulage. Its maximum gradeability under full load reaches 25%, fully covering long uphill underground transport and inclined shaft operations. The maximum traction force hits 54KN and maximum breakout force reaches 45KN. The bucket is integrally cast with thickened manganese steel for outstanding wear and impact resistance, enabling full bucket filling in one single pass when dealing with hard blasted ore and muddy loose slag. It avoids frequent start-stop cycles of the hydraulic system and extends the service life of pumps and motors. Equipped with 10.00-20 mine-specific wear-resistant underground tires with standard air pressure 0.6-0.7MPa, the thickened tire carcass resists punctures, adapting to complex underground road conditions covered with broken stones and slippery mud, and lowering tire replacement frequency.

The core power unit is a German DEUTZ D914L04 air-cooled diesel engine with rated power 58KW/2300rpm. The air-cooled design eliminates complicated water cooling pipelines, delivering stable operation under humid, dusty and water-short underground environments. The engine reserves sufficient torque to output strong power at low rotation speed without power attenuation during heavy shoveling, with outstanding fuel economy to reduce long-term fuel operation costs for mines. The standard 60L diesel fuel tank supports long-duration non-stop mucking cycles and minimizes downtime for frequent refueling.

The complete traveling hydraulic system is assembled with original imported core components from Sauer Danfoss USA: the main working pump is PV22 fully reversible variable piston pump, paired with MV23 variable piston travel motor to form a closed hydrostatic drive circuit with low transmission loss and rapid response. The working hydraulic system runs at a rated pressure of 16MPa, while the independent Sauer steering pump with displacement 16ml/r operates under 12.5MPa rated pressure. Full hydraulic steering delivers light operation and greatly reduces operator fatigue during long shifts. The transfer case adopts fixed-axis helical gear transmission with reduction ratio 2.643, transferring power smoothly without impact. The drive axle is a heavy-duty mine-specific unit with reduction ratio 25.868, realizing four-wheel synchronous drive to prevent slipping on slippery underground floors and sustaining stable power output during heavy climbing. The 120L large-volume hydraulic oil tank stabilizes oil temperature during continuous operation and reduces high-temperature pressure relief failures.

The safety braking system adopts mature caliper disc structure with dual protection of hydraulic release and spring parking brake. Service brake and parking brake are integrated into one assembly. Springs automatically lock the wheels once the machine stops, preventing rolling on inclined shafts and ramps, and greatly improving safety during underground maintenance and temporary parking, fully complying with underground safety regulations of mining industries worldwide. The electrical system adopts safe 24V low-voltage power supply composed of two 12V storage batteries connected in series. All wiring is sealed with waterproof and moisture-proof treatment to adapt to high-humidity and dusty underground environments and avoid short-circuit and electric leakage faults.

The operator cabin is reinforced with thickened steel plates to meet rock fall impact protection standards. The side-mounted seat follows ergonomic layout with unobstructed front and side vision, allowing operators to clearly observe the bucket and tunnel side walls to prevent wall collision. Manual lubrication system is equipped as standard for convenient daily maintenance. Customized optional functions are available upon customer demand, including video wireless remote control system and ejector bucket, matching automatic unmanned stopes and mining projects with high dumping height requirements, flexibly adapting to mining techniques of different mineral sites.

Compared with domestic small LHDs of the same tonnage on the market, FKWJ-1 equips all original imported hydraulic power core parts, with transmission matching calibrated through thousands of hours of underground condition testing, featuring lower failure rate and over 30% longer overall service life. The whole machine is welded with mine-specific wear-resistant steel, with key stress-bearing parts thickened and reinforced to avoid cracking and deformation under long-term heavy bumping operations. The manufacturer provides customized frame size adjustment and core component brand replacement solutions, optimizing configurations for special mines with heavy dust, steep slopes and high humidity, and delivering exclusive complete equipment solutions. Supported by a global after-sales warehouse and spare parts supply system, we supply stable bulk orders to small metal mines and tunnel engineering clients across Southeast Asia, Africa, Russia and South America. Machine delivery is accompanied by complete operation training and underground maintenance guidance, providing one-stop solutions for procurement and operation of small underground mucking equipment.
