FKWJ-4 4m³ Underground LHD Loader Delivers 10-Ton Payload for Hard Rock Mining

Aug. 05, 2026

FOCOR Machinery officially releases its flagship medium-sized underground diesel LHD loader FKWJ-4, a robust articulated mining vehicle specially engineered for medium and large hard rock underground mining tunnels, with a standard 4.0m³ bucket capacity and 10,000kg rated payload, filling the market demand for high-reliability, high-productivity underground haulage equipment.

The whole machine adopts modular reinforced welding frame and front-rear hinged swing design, with ±40° steering angle and ±8° rear frame oscillation angle. The outer turning radius is only 6781mm, which greatly improves flexibility in narrow underground drifts. Overall dimension data of FKWJ-4 is 9632mm in length, 2600mm in maximum width and 2430mm in canopy height, with 463mm ground clearance to avoid scraping uneven tunnel ground. The empty operating weight reaches 27,292kg, and full-load total weight hits 37,292kg, equipped with 18.00-25 heavy-duty mining tires inflated at 7.5bar for strong load-bearing and anti-abrasion performance.

In power and drive system, FKWJ-4 adopts imported Cummins QSL9-C300 water-cooled diesel engine, rated power 224kW at 2100rpm, peak torque 1369Nm at 1500rpm. The exhaust system matches DOC catalytic purifier, fully complying with US EPA Tier 3 and EU Stage Ⅲ A emission standards, effectively reducing underground ventilation pressure. The drive train is configured with DANA C5000 series single-stage torque converter and R36000 four-forward four-reverse power shift transmission, matching two KESSLER D102 rigid planetary axles with limited-slip and no-spin differential separately, generating maximum tractive effort up to 240kN and breakout force of 180kN. Four speed tramming design enables a top empty/full speed of 30.4km/h on flat ground, and it can stably climb 25% gradient at 2.9km/h in first gear, fully adapting to steep ramp transportation of underground mines.

The hydraulic system is equipped with Parker original pumps and control valves. The lifting hydraulic circuit has a pump flow of 210L/min under 23MPa working pressure; bucket lifting time is less than 8s, lowering within 4s and dumping within 5.6s. The steering hydraulic system supplies 160L/min flow at 17.5MPa, adopting orbit full-hydraulic power steering for light and stable manipulation. All hydraulic oil tanks hold 390L, with independent cooling loops to keep hydraulic temperature stable under long continuous operation.

Safety and braking performance is the core highlight of FKWJ-4. It adopts full-enclosed multi-disc wet hydraulic brakes on all four wheel ends, with spring-applied hydraulic release SAHR parking & emergency brake integrated. Service brake accumulator maintains 15.5–18.6MPa stable pressure; the parking brake engages automatically once the engine shuts down. The whole vehicle is fitted with SAE standard ROPS/FOPS anti-collision and anti-falling object canopy, door limit interlock switch, 112dB reverse alarm and four groups of high-bright driving/reversing lights. Optional portable fire suppression device and boom lock mechanism for maintenance greatly cut underground operation risks.

The operator cab uses side-seat ergonomic layout, with adjustable spring shock-absorbing seat. All gauges including tachometer, engine temperature, oil pressure, brake pressure and torque converter temperature are centrally arranged on Murphy instrument panel. Joystick operating force ≤120N and pedal force ≤350N effectively lower driver fatigue; the whole machine operating noise is controlled below 90dB(A). For diversified mine demands, multiple optional configurations are available: full airtight air-conditioned cabin, automatic centralized lubrication system, remote wireless control, ejector bucket and fire extinguishing assembly.

In terms of daily maintenance convenience, FKWJ-4 sets independent filling ports for each lubricating medium: 340L fuel tank, 100L brake cooling liquid, 23L engine oil pan, 33L engine coolant, 36L transmission oil, and separated filling volume for front/rear axle differential and planetary gear sets. All core maintenance points are designed on the ground side without climbing, shortening daily inspection and component replacement cycle, reducing long-term mine operation cost.

Field operation data shows that under one-way haulage distance from 40m to 480m and gradient ranging from 0% to 20%, FKWJ-4 maintains stable hourly throughput. Its imported core matching scheme balances durability and cost, widely suitable for underground mucking of gold, copper, iron and polymetallic mines across Latin America, Southeast Asia and Africa.
