FKWJ-3 Underground LHD Launched, Premium Imported Core Components Boost Mining Efficiency

Jul. 09, 2026

With accelerated exploitation of deep mineral resources globally, tightening mine safety regulations and surging demand for cost reduction & efficiency improvement among mining enterprises, trackless underground mining equipment has entered a new round of upgrading. As the integrated core machinery for underground loading, haulage and dumping, the underground scooptram (LHD) directly determines overall mine ore output efficiency and underground personnel safety through its reliability, power stability, braking safety and hydraulic control smoothness. Therefore, global mining sites maintain rising procurement demand for large-tonnage, highly adaptable, modular diesel LHDs meeting strict safety standards. Against this industry backdrop, our company leverages over ten years of R&D, complete machine assembly and on-site after-sales service experience for mining construction machinery. By integrating top global hydraulic, transmission and power supply chains, we have completed multiple rounds of working condition simulation, underground heavy-load durability tests and extreme ramp braking safety verification, and officially launched the new-generation FKWJ-3 Model 307 7-ton underground diesel scooptram powered by BF6M1013 engine. It delivers a one-stop heavy-duty underground loading & haulage solution for domestic and overseas underground mines of non-ferrous, precious and non-metallic minerals.

In terms of core configuration, the FKWJ-3 LHD adopts a design standard of globally top-tier imported core components, distinctly superior to low-end domestically assembled competitors, ensuring long-term stable operation from the power source. The power unit is equipped with original German DEUTZ BF6M1013 water-cooled diesel engine, rated power 165kW at 2300rpm. The water cooling structure perfectly adapts to high-temperature, poorly ventilated underground roadways. It delivers high power output while maintaining fuel efficiency without high-temperature shutdown during long-duration heavy-load continuous operation, easily handling 25% full-load gradient climbing and fully meeting the demands of long-distance haulage and high-gradient ore transportation in deep mines. The complete transmission system adopts genuine American DANA spare parts, including C270 single-stage two-component torque converter, R32000 four-forward-four-reverse power shift transmission and DANA 16D heavy-duty axle, with optional KESSLER D91 heavy-duty axle upon request. The full DANA transmission assembly comes with built-in hydraulic pump drive interfaces to drastically reduce power transmission loss. The four-speed power shift structure offers four adjustable traveling speeds: 4.2km/h, 8.5km/h, 14.5km/h and 20km/h. Low-speed high torque fits loading work, while high-speed gears enable rapid flat roadway transportation. The transmission integrates an emergency brake module that instantly locks the output shaft upon pressure loss or circuit failure to prevent sliding and ramp skidding risks. The heavy-duty rear axle features ±10° swinging floating structure, maintaining four-wheel ground contact on uneven underground roadways with peak traction of 140KN and maximum digging force of 120KN. Matched with standard 17.50-25 heavy-duty mining tires, it achieves far superior passing stability on broken, muddy and gravel roadways compared with same-tonnage competing models.

As the core of machine control, the hydraulic system adopts a specialized multi-brand split-circuit matching scheme with clear functional division and precise pressure matching to avoid overload failures of multi-way valves from single-brand setups. Working and steering pumps are Parker axial piston pumps, brake pumps are original Rexroth hydraulic pumps, and auxiliary slip pumps are DANA pumps. Hydraulic valve groups are divided into five functional modules: working and steering valves by Parker, service brake valves by Wabco, prefill valves by Mico and acceleration control valves by WILLIAMS, with matching WILLIAMS acceleration hydraulic cylinders. The complete hydraulic system is split into five independent closed oil circuits for working, steering, braking, oil filling and acceleration control, with precisely partitioned rated pressures: 14MPa for working and steering systems, 12.5MPa for safety braking systems. The pressure grading design provides powerful output for bucket lifting and side-tipping dumping while preventing seal damage caused by overpressure in brake circuits, extending the service life of hydraulic pipelines, valve spools and sealing elements. The machine is fitted with a 240L large-capacity diesel tank and an independent 300L hydraulic oil tank. Sufficient oil storage reduces frequent underground refueling and extends continuous operation time. The 24V full-vehicle electrical system is powered by two series-connected 12V batteries, delivering stable circuit operation in humid and dusty underground environments with clear fault identification.

The complete safety braking system adopts a mainstream dual-circuit safety architecture consisting of independent service working brakes and parking stop brakes, featuring fully enclosed multi-disc wet hydraulic brakes that block dust and water seepage into brake pads underground. The service life of brake pads is over three times longer than dry brakes. The parking brake follows a spring-applied, hydraulically released safety logic: springs instantly clamp brake discs upon engine shutdown or hydraulic pressure loss to eliminate runaway risks during ramp parking or temporary maintenance, completely avoiding severe underground safety accidents caused by sliding. The full brake hydraulic circuit integrates pressure monitoring and leakage early warning functions, which alert operators to oil circuit leakage or abnormal pressure in advance. Combined with the built-in emergency brake of the transmission, it forms a three-layer braking safety protection system fully compliant with mandatory mine safety standards worldwide.

The machine structure and operator cabin are optimized around underground human-machine safety and operation visibility. The cabin is integrally reinforced with 6mm thick steel plates and adopts a side-seat layout without vertical pillars blocking front and side roadway vision, allowing operators to clearly observe obstacles around the bucket and roadways to reduce collision risks with roadway pipelines. The standard model is equipped with manual centralized lubrication points, with optional automatic centralized lubrication systems to cut manual regular maintenance workload. Basic control mode is manual mechanical operation, with an optional video remote control system enabling long-distance unmanned loading & haulage, suitable for high rockfall, high gas and high-dust hazardous stopes to separate operators from dangerous working areas and fundamentally reduce underground exposure risks for frontline miners. A fully enclosed air-conditioned cabin is optional for high-temperature and alpine mines to improve comfort during long underground shifts. The bucket is integrally cast from high-strength manganese steel with excellent wear and impact resistance, standard volume 3.5 cubic meters (4.5 cubic yards), rated load capacity 7000kg, curb weight 19740kg and total loaded weight 25740kg. An ejector bucket is optional for fast and complete dumping of sticky or wet ore without residual material buildup.

The overall geometric dimensions are specially optimized for narrow roadways: total length 9350mm with bucket lowered, shortened to 8780mm with bucket lifted, overall width 2150mm, maximum cabin height 2252mm and minimum ground clearance 352mm, ensuring smooth passage through low and narrow drifts. Wheelbase reaches 3160mm, maximum left/right steering angle 40° each, minimum inner turning radius 3220mm, minimum outer turning radius 5760mm, departure angle 15°, maximum lifting height 4800mm, dumping height 1886mm and standard dumping angle 32°. It can flexibly turn around in small stopes and return roadways without repeated reversing adjustments, significantly shortening single cycle operation time and boosting hourly underground ore output.

To meet diversified global mine working conditions, the FKWJ-3 LHD adopts a highly modular customized design. All core components and optional accessories can be flexibly replaced and upgraded according to customersroadway geological conditions, roadway dimensions and mining processes. Core power, transmission and hydraulic assemblies support brand interchange and upgrading, with dozens of optional solutions covering five modules: braking, lubrication, control, cabin and bucket: remote control system, automatic centralized lubrication, air-conditioned closed cabin, ejector dumping bucket, heavy-duty reinforced axles, high-wear bucket liners, exhaust purification devices, underground video monitoring systems and more, all customizable upon request. Our technical team can provide exclusive machine configuration schemes and accurate quotations based on detailed parameters submitted by clients including roadway cross-section, mining gradient, ore hardness, daily ore output and underground ventilation conditions, balancing equipment procurement cost and long-term operation & maintenance cost to deliver cost-effective underground loading machinery.
