New FKWJ-2 Underground Scooptram Launched

Jinan Focor Machinery has officially launched the standardized FKWJ-2 diesel underground scooptram, designed for trackless mucking in small & medium metal mines, non-metal mines and tunnels. With 4-ton rated load and standard 2m³ bucket, it adopts top imported German & American core parts for power, transmission and hydraulics. Balancing flexibility in narrow drifts, stable heavy-load performance and long service life, it serves as a cost-effective alternative to expensive imported LHD machines.

Underground mines suffer tough conditions: narrow roadways, slippery muddy ground, heavy rock loading, high humidity and dust corrosion. Traditional domestic scooptrams feature frequent breakdowns, insufficient braking safety and weak gradeability; imported European & American units cost a lot with slow spare parts delivery and delayed after-sales support, pushing up mine operation costs. Based on years of global underground field test data, Focor R&D team upgraded six core modules of FKWJ-2, solving key pain points including low efficiency, high maintenance cost and safety risks for small-medium mining operations.

The powertrain uses original German DEUTZ F6L914 air-cooled diesel engine with 84kW rated power. Air cooling fits hot, poorly ventilated underground environments and maintains stable power output at high altitudes without power loss during climbing or mucking. The transmission system is equipped with American DANA C272 torque converter and R32421 four-speed power shift gearbox, 4 forward & 4 reverse gears. 1st gear delivers low speed high torque for rock loading, while 4th gear reaches 20km/h for fast long-distance haulage. Full-load gradeability hits 15%, max traction force 120KN, enabling full bucket loading in one pass to cut cycle time and boost hourly output.

The drive axle is fitted with NO-SPIN anti-slip differential to avoid wheel slipping on slippery underground roads. The rear axle has ±6°~±8° swing buffer to absorb uneven road vibration and protect the frame and precision hydraulic components. The full hydraulic system consists of international brand pumps and valves from Parker, Rexroth, WABCO etc. Four independent circuits (working, steering, braking, charge) with calibrated pressure deliver smooth, shock-free movements. Mine-specific double-seal hydraulic hoses resist underground humidity and mine water to prevent leakage.

Its core advantage lies in dual wet brake safety system: service brake adopts fully enclosed multi-disc wet structure, isolated from dust and mine water with stable heat dissipation without thermal fading during long downhill braking. Spring-applied hydraulic-release parking brake locks wheels automatically under pressure loss or engine stop, plus integrated transmission emergency brake to fully meet global mining safety standards.

Optimized dimensions for narrow drifts: wheelbase 2540mm, frame width 1750mm, minimum inner turning radius 4255mm, smoothly passing drifts wider than 2.2m. Curb weight 12.5 tons, total loaded weight 16.5 tons. The manganese steel wear-resistant bucket has a 40° dumping angle, compatible with underground mine cars and ore chutes; ejector bucket is optional. The operator cabin is welded with 6mm thick steel plates for rockfall protection with side seat layout for wide underground vision. The 24V electrical system prevents short circuits in humid conditions, while 100L fuel tank and 120L hydraulic tank support full-shift continuous operation.

Customized options are available: manual centralized lubrication can be upgraded to automatic system; wireless remote control with underground HD video enables unmanned operation in high-risk blasting or unstable roof zones. Vehicle coating, pipeline layout and explosion-proof accessories can be adjusted according to local drift sizes and mining regulations.

All core wearing parts are global standard components for fast worldwide replacement. Wet brakes, imported hydraulic pumps and DANA transmission assemblies far outlast fully domestic units, cutting annual maintenance frequency by over 60% and reducing spare parts cost by 45% vs fully imported machines.
